Founder's Story

I’m Japanese, and before I came to the United States, I had never eaten oatmeal.

I knew oats only as a sweet breakfast food, and that never appealed to me. I don’t eat sugar in the morning. When I began working in the oat industry, I decided to explore oats in a way that fit my everyday cooking.

I discovered that oat groats—whole, dehulled oats—are perfect with rice. Their hearty texture pairs beautifully with Japanese rice, adding nourishment and a satisfying bite. Today, I eat rice mixed with oat groats almost every morning.

I also learned how versatile rolled oats can be in savory cooking. They blend naturally into soups, meatballs, dumplings, and stews. When I want to enjoy rolled oats, I season them with traditional Japanese flavors like miso, dashi, sesame oil, and soy sauce, creating meals that are comforting, savory, and balanced.

That experience inspired PureOats.

We believe oats are more than breakfast. They are simple, high-quality food meant to be enjoyed in everyday cooking—across cultures, cuisines, and meals. PureOats invites you to enjoy oats your way.

Japan Vision

I dream of sharing PureOats with my home country, Japan, and showing how oats can bring nourishment and flavor to everyday meals — not just breakfast. After many years in the automotive industry, I spent time learning about oats, the food industry, and food quality & safety, before finally launching PureOats in 2024.

Since then, I’ve discovered many ways oats can fit naturally into everyday cooking — from rice and oats groats, dumplings, and soups, to meatballs and slow-cooked dishes. I hope more people in Japan will enjoy oats for their hearty texture, versatility, and nourishment, without changing how they cook.
